Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is an AI Agent?

An AI Agent is a software program powered by artificial intelligence that can hold real conversations, answer questions, qualify leads, book appointments, and take action inside your business systems — all without a human being involved.

Think of it as a highly trained employee who works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, never calls in sick, never puts a customer on hold, and never has a bad day.

The key distinction between an AI Agent and the old-style chatbots you may have encountered before is this: a chatbot answers questions by following a rigid script.

An AI Agent actually understands what someone is saying, responds intelligently to whatever they ask, and then does something about it — like booking an appointment or capturing their contact information. It does not just talk. It works.

Is this the same as those annoying phone trees where you press 1 for sales and 2 for support?

Not even close. Phone trees are rule-based systems from the 1990s. They break the moment a caller says something unexpected.

Our AI Agents understand natural language — meaning your customers can say whatever they would normally say to a real person, and the AI understands them and responds appropriately.

There are no menus, no frustrating loops, and no “I didn’t understand that, please try again.”

How is this different from a regular chatbot on a website?

A regular chatbot is a script. It has a list of questions it can answer and a list of things it cannot. The moment a customer asks something outside that list, the chatbot fails.

Our AI Agents are trained on your specific business — your services, your pricing, your FAQs, your brand voice — and they can handle the full range of real conversations your customers actually have.

They also do not just answer questions. They qualify leads, book appointments, collect information, and notify you when something needs your attention.

What can an AI Agent actually do for my business?

The short answer is: everything your front desk or receptionist does, plus things they cannot do because they are only one person working limited hours.

Specifically, a Lizard Lane Media AI Agent can: Answer every inbound call, text, or website inquiry — 24 hours a day, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualify callers by asking the right questions to determine whether they are a good fit for your services. Book appointments directly into your calendar without any back-and-forth. Capture lead information and push it into your CRM automatically.

Answer your most common customer questions — pricing, availability, service area, what to expect, how to prepare. Send appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.

Follow up with leads who did not book the first time. Request reviews from satisfied customers after a job is complete. Escalate urgent calls or specific situations to a live person when needed.

Does the AI sound robotic? Will my customers know they are talking to a machine?

Modern AI voices and conversational AI have advanced dramatically. Our agents are trained with a natural, friendly tone that matches your brand’s personality.

Most callers do not realize they are speaking with an AI — they simply experience a fast, helpful, knowledgeable response. That said, we do not hide the fact that it is AI if a customer directly asks.

The agent is trained to be transparent when asked directly, which actually builds trust rather than eroding it.

The vast majority of customers care far more about getting a fast, helpful response than about whether a human or an AI provided it.

How does the AI know about my business?

Before your AI Agent goes live, we build a custom Knowledge Base specifically for your business.

This is the AI’s brain — it contains everything it needs to represent your business accurately: your services and descriptions, your pricing, your service area, your hours, your booking process, your most frequently asked questions, your brand voice and tone, and any specific guardrails (things the AI should never say or do).

We gather this information through a detailed intake form that you complete during onboarding. The more thoroughly you fill it out, the more accurately the AI represents your business.

We then review and refine the knowledge base before the agent ever speaks to a real customer.

What happens when someone calls my business number?

When a call comes in, it is routed to your AI Agent first. The agent answers with your custom greeting, listens to what the caller needs, and handles the conversation from there.

If the caller wants to book an appointment, the AI checks your calendar and books it in real time. If they have a question, the AI answers it.

If the situation requires a live person — an emergency, an existing client with a specific issue, or a scenario you have flagged in advance — the AI transfers the call to you or your team immediately.

You receive a notification for every lead captured, every appointment booked, and every call that required escalation. Nothing falls through the cracks.

What about my website? Can the AI work there too?

Yes. In addition to the phone system, we offer a proprietary website widget that embeds directly into your existing website.

The widget creates an interactive, “talking” experience — visitors can speak or type to the AI directly on your website, and it handles the same qualification, booking, and FAQ functions as the phone agent.

Your website stops being a digital brochure and starts being an active lead capture and booking machine.

Does it integrate with my existing calendar and CRM?

Yes. We integrate with Google Calendar, Outlook, and most major CRM platforms.

For industry-specific software (Jobber, ServiceTitan, and similar tools), we assess compatibility during onboarding.

The goal is always to make the AI work within the systems you already use, not force you to change your operations to accommodate the technology.

What happens after hours? On weekends? On holidays?

The AI works every hour of every day without exception.

This is one of the most significant advantages for local service businesses — the majority of missed calls happen after 5pm, on weekends, and during holidays, precisely when competitors’ phones go to voicemail.

Your AI Agent answers every one of those calls, qualifies the lead, and books the appointment so it is waiting in your calendar when you start the next business day.

What if a caller asks something the AI does not know?

The AI is trained to handle this gracefully. If a question falls outside its knowledge base, it does not guess or make something up.

It acknowledges that it does not have that specific information, offers to take the caller’s contact details and have someone follow up, and ensures the lead is not lost.

We also review AI conversations regularly during onboarding to identify gaps in the knowledge base and fill them in.

Can the AI transfer calls to a live person?

Yes. You define the escalation rules during onboarding.

Common escalation triggers include: a caller explicitly asking to speak to a human, an emergency situation, an existing client calling about an active job, or any scenario you specify in advance.

When escalation is triggered, the AI transfers the call to your designated number immediately.

How long does it take to get set up?

Seven days from the moment you say yes. This is a hard commitment. If we do not have your system live and performing within 7 days, you do not pay the setup fee.

What do I have to do during setup?

Your primary responsibility is completing the intake form thoroughly and responding to any clarifying questions we have during the build.

The intake form covers your services, pricing, FAQs, booking preferences, brand voice, and escalation rules. It takes most business owners 30–45 minutes to complete.

After that, we handle the technical build entirely. You do not need to know anything about AI, software, or technology.

Do I need to change my existing phone number?

No. We provision a new AI-powered phone number and configure your existing business number to forward to it.

Your customers continue calling the same number they always have.

The only difference is that every call gets answered.

Do I need to change my website?

Not for the phone agent.

If you want the website widget, we provide a simple embed code that your web developer (or we) can add to your site in minutes.

No redesign required.

How much does it cost?

We offer our AI Agent service at $497/month + $297 set up fee

Is there a contract? Can I cancel?

There is no long-term contract. Our clients stay because the system produces results, not because they are locked in.

You can cancel at any time with 30 days notice.

Why would I pay for this when I can just hire a receptionist?

A full-time receptionist costs $2,500 - $4,000 per month in salary alone, works 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, takes lunch breaks, calls in sick, and goes home at 5pm.

Your AI Agent costs a fraction of that, works every hour of every day, never takes a break, never has a bad day, and handles every call with the same quality and consistency.

For businesses that already have a receptionist, the AI handles overflow, after-hours calls, and weekend coverage — extending your team’s capacity without adding headcount.

I tried AI before and it did not work. Why would this be different?

Most AI tools that did not work were either generic chatbots that were not trained on your specific business, or they were set up incorrectly and never refined.

Our AI Agents are custom-built for your business from the ground up — trained on your services, your voice, your FAQs, and your specific customer scenarios.

We also stay involved after go-live to monitor performance and make adjustments.

The difference between a generic AI tool and a properly configured AI Agent built for your specific business is the difference between a random person off the street and a trained employee who has been doing your job for years.

What if my customers do not like talking to AI?

The data consistently shows that customers care about speed and helpfulness far more than whether they are speaking to a human or an AI.

A customer who calls at 9pm on a Sunday and gets an immediate, helpful response from an AI is far happier than a customer who calls at 9pm and gets voicemail.

The customers who have a strong preference for human interaction are handled by the escalation protocol — the AI transfers them to a live person when requested.

What if the AI makes a mistake or gives wrong information?

The AI only communicates information that is in its knowledge base. It does not guess, fabricate, or speculate. If it does not know something, it says so and offers to have someone follow up.

We also conduct thorough testing before go-live to verify that the AI is representing your business accurately.

During the first 30 days, we monitor conversations and make refinements as needed.

Is my customer data secure?

Yes. All data is handled through enterprise-grade platforms with industry-standard security protocols.

Customer information collected by the AI is stored in your GHL CRM, which you own and control.

We do not sell or share your data or your customers’ data with any third parties.

What if my business changes — new services, new pricing, new hours?

Your knowledge base can be updated at any time. When your business changes, you notify us and we update the AI’s training to reflect the new information.

For clients on the Growth and Scale plans, updates are included in the monthly service.

The AI always reflects your current business, not a snapshot from when you first signed up.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free 15-minute demo call.

On that call, we will show you the AI in action, answer any questions specific to your business, and determine whether the system is a good fit.

To schedule your demo visit lizardlanemedia.com.
